Recent research with over 1,500 U.S. adults concluded that “the vast majority of consumers... would prefer to purchase food with the VeriPrime label." The label, carried on food products at the retail level, tells consumers the products they are purchasing are produced under strict prevention based guidelines. At the core of the VeriPrime Certified safeguards program are standards of prevention based food safety and traceability designed by scientific committees, comprised of leading animal scientists, veterinarians and producers. These strict standards cover many areas of food production including: • Specific prevention based food safety protocols that begin at the farm. • All Products carrying the VeriPrime Certified Safeguards label are traceable to their source. • Third party audits that make sure the prevention steps and traceability are implemented perfectly each and every time. • Compliance with food safety and environmental regulations VeriPrime, the organization which manages the program, has created standards for the prevention based safeguards for beef cattle. They will soon expand to include dairy cattle, pigs, egg-laying chickens and chickens used for meat, turkeys and sheep.
